It went up on the market on April 6th, we had our first showing on the 8th and the showings continued through Easter Sunday when we got an offer in the evening for full price. Our realtor came the next day to present the offer and we were off to the races.
Then it was time for us to start searching. But with us living in Arizona and the house hunting needing to take place in San Diego, it made it a little difficult. Luckily I have a fabulous cousin who lives in the city we were researching so she was able to look at homes for us with our realtor. I sent a spreadsheet of homes my side kick and I were interested in, Jen (realtor) set up appointments and Jeanene wrote up summaries of the houses that worth us visiting, flat out "no's" and the maybes of the bunch. So, when we finally came into town in May, we checked out those houses worthy of our time and like Ben from the Bachelor, we told two houses we were in love with each of them. We did put an offer on one and with a great agent and a clean offer, we got our acceptance of our offer today!
Let's recap: We sold our house Easter Sunday (45 day escrow), we were able to find a house and put in an offer on Mother's Day and we will be closing around Father's day. I am SOOOO excited! I know Steve is also and we can't wait to move back to California. I worry this move will be stressful for the dogs, living in our toy hauler for three weeks while we wait for escrow to close, I hope they don't mind a smaller house, or no stairs to run up although it will have a nice backyard with mature trees and the weather won't be gawd awful during the summer.
I look forward to the new adventure, living around the corner from my cousin and family. I will miss Arizona, the new friends we have made and living down the street from my sister and her family. But the time has come for us to go back... be closer to my daughter and son and future grandchildren (I can dream!).
Here are a couple of pictures of the new house...
