Spring Training 2017!!

Ladies and Gentlemen... please rise for the singing of the National Anthem.

It was a beautiful day for some baseball!  Seats right behind home plate, the hot dog and fries were fabulous, the fans around me were a lot of fun and my sidekick sitting next to me, cheering on my team, made the day even better.  Well, having a Spring Training facility a stones throw away is the best thing EVER!  Actually, we have four stadiums within a 1/2 hour drive of our home.

The singing of the national anthem is always my favorite and when you have these four women, doing an acapella rendition and nail it... it gave me goosebumps!

There were quite a few sights and sounds around the Goodyear ball park.  I think there were a few SF Giants fans that pre-partied before the game.  Although most of us were Giants fans in the section, these two, who had a Bronx-ish accent kept us laughing throughout the innings.  At one point, when we didn't hear them, we had to turn around to make sure they hadn't passed out.

During the second inning, the Giants Conor Gillaspie hit a home run and as he touches home plate, I look to the right and I see a black pop up flying in the air.  I know the weather said 15mph winds... obviously one of the vendors forgot their stakes.  The pop up went up and over the fences.  Although it wasn't funny it was kind of funny seeing so many people running after the tent.

We also had TWO foul balls land in the row behind us!  I had my sidekick get me an ice cream cone while he got himself a beer so he didn't have a chance to shove people out of the way to try to catch it.  As the first one pops up we thought it was to the right of us, but with the wind it started to trail back to our section and while I'm watching it, I caught my finger inbetween the arm rest and my body.  I thought I broke my finger and didn't realize it was hurting until I saw the girl behind me catch the ball.  The second pop fly behind home plate landed in the row behind us again but in the section next to us.  I think that's the closest we've come to foul balls!  It was still very exciting and it's always fun watching your team win!  Giants 9 and the Reds 4.

Next up... SD Padres at Peoria with our friends from San Diego!  Looking forward to that game and cheering on the Padres against the White Sox!

New Job, New Degree, New Lease on Life

I felt bad dropping my blog after only posting a few times, but ASU and my Biology degree got the best of me.  After a lot of long nights, classes almost every day, working my real job in between my classes and dissecting frogs, cats, sharks, snakes, pigeons to finally finish my Bachelor of Science degree, I walked across the stage at the Wells Fargo Arena on May 10, 2016.  With my besties (Becki and India), my kids, my parents and sisters and my absolutely fabulous husband on hand, it was one of the proudest days I had when I accepted my degree from the head of the Biology department.

My Wolf Pack
My mom and dad
My beautiful family
My AZ and CA sisters
The one thing I will forever be grateful for is the love and support my husband showed me throughout my college years.  He fed me, held my hand when I was nervous, let me cry when I was stressed, fed me, did the laundry and never once complained when I had my note cards super glued to me whenever we went out to the movies or dinner... when he thought I needed a few hours to get away.

He got me back almost a year ago and boy has life changed!

2014 - We adopted another boxer Angus!  He has made such a great addition to our family

2015 - We bought a Polaris 1000 RZR and have had quite a few adventures in it.

2016 - Steve bought a new truck (RAM REBEL), of course, I graduated ASU, we bought a Toy Hauler to carry the RZR, I took up cooking and our first trip after my graduation was heading back to New York for a little R&R.

and here we are in 2017...  My blog will still hold our adventures, camping trips, etc, my new love... cooking and baking and my favorite recipes I have tried and enjoyed as well as  the funny antics of our two beautiful boxes, Bella and Angus.
