One of our favorite campsites near our house is Lake Pleasant. It has a lake to swim or fish (make sure you have a fishing license), it has RV parking and although there are numerous campsites next to each other, it really doesn't feel like everyone is on top of the other.
There are a few different campgrounds that cater to either RV/Trailer parking, tent camping or just day use. The campsites range so if you have a longer RV you may want to make sure you check the length of the site. Most of the RV sites have hook ups for electricity and water so you don't need a generator.
We have gone twice. Once during the summer (July 2016) and the second time during the winter (January 2017). I did enjoy the crisper weather but when you are camping with friends during the summer, the weather doesn't bother as much as it should.

note to self: don't try backing up a trailer in a downpour with wet sand. It makes for a cranky sidekick especially when you need to back it up at an incline.
